Har Lamha Anmol Hai: The Underrated Power of Being Present
Har Lamha Anmol Hai: The Underrated Power of Being Present
Unfiltered Emotions by Dr. Prashant Sarothiya
Sometimes I wonder — are we truly living, or just existing?
Every morning begins with a race. Eyes barely open and our mind already jumps miles ahead deadlines, responsibilities, future plans. Days pass, tasks get ticked off, but the soul feels... untouched. Somewhere between the chaos of “what next?” and the regrets of “what if?”, we forget the value of “what is”.
This moment. Yehi toh asli zindagi hai But how often do we pause to live it?
We sip our morning tea, but our mind is lost in messages We meet a friend, but half the time, we're checking our phones We hear people, but we rarely listen And slowly, life becomes a blur a routine where everything happens, yet nothing touches us.
Being present is not just a poetic concept. It’s a forgotten art simple, powerful, and deeply healing. But we often ignore it, thinking, “What’s the big deal? I’m here, aren’t I?” Yes, you're here… but are you aware?
Zindagi doesn’t ask for grand gestures It asks for your attention.
The joy of warm sunlight on your face, the random laughter during a serious conversation, the smell of your favorite food, or the silence of a peaceful evening these are not small things These are life’s whispers, saying, “Slow down… feel me.”
But we, driven by deadlines and perfection, often miss them.
We think happiness is somewhere far a goal, a promotion, a perfect partner, a better tomorrow But truth is, happiness hides in today In little things. In small pauses. In unnoticed smiles Bas thoda sa theherna padta hai.
Presence isn’t about doing nothing. It’s about doing everything with your whole heart in it When you eat, actually taste the food When you’re with someone, really look into their eyes When you breathe, feel the breath.
Kya aapne kabhi sirf baithkar apni saanson ko mehsoos kiya hai? No music, no noise just you and your breath Try it once… it might feel strange, but slowly, it becomes a quiet comfort.
Because in that stillness, you’ll realise Life is not slipping away It’s right here, waiting for you to notice.
Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is — be here Not thinking about yesterday. Not planning tomorrow Just being present, now, with everything that you are.
Har lamha ek gift hai. And when you treat it that way, life begins to glow So the next time you catch yourself rushing, worrying, or endlessly scrolling Pause.
Take a deep breath Look around Smile.
And softly say to yourself “This moment is enough. Main yahan hoon, aur yahi kaafi hai.”
Because truly…Har lamha anmol hai And so are you.
