Why Judge When You Can Understand?
Why Judge When You Can Understand?
— Unfiltered Emotions by Dr. Prashant Sarothiya
Sometimes I feel that one of the biggest problems in today's world is not that people don't care.
It's that people don't try to understand.
The moment someone changes their behavior, replies late, becomes distant, or stops expressing themselves the way they used to, we immediately start creating our own stories.
"Maybe they have changed."
"Maybe they don't care anymore."
"Maybe it's their ego."
But what if none of these assumptions are true?
Kya humne kabhi yeh socha hai ki shayad saamne wala bhi apni life ke kisi difficult phase se guzar raha ho Shayad woh responsibilities ke pressure mein ho.
Shayad woh emotionally exhausted ho.
Shayad woh khud ko sambhalne mein itna busy ho ki har relationship ko wahi energy na de pa raha ho jo pehle deta tha.
The truth is, not every silence is ego.
Not every distance is intentional.
And not every late reply means a lack of care.
Lekin hum aksar behavior dekh kar judgment bana lete hain, situation samajhne ki koshish nahi karte.
We see the reaction. But we don't see the reason behind it. We notice the absence. But we don't notice the struggle that might be causing it. Kabhi kabhi log door nahi ja rahe hote. They are simply trying to survive something they don't know how to explain.
Aur sach kahun, har insaan ke paas apni ek unseen battle hoti hai.
A battle that doesn't appear on social media.
A battle that doesn't come with announcements.
A battle that most people will never know about.
Yet we expect them to respond, smile, communicate, and behave exactly the same way as before.
Maybe that's unfair.
Because understanding someone's situation requires patience. Judging them requires only a few seconds. Aur shayad isi liye judgment itna common hai aur understanding itni rare. Sometimes, before deciding that someone has changed, we should pause and ask ourselves—
"Do I know what they are going through?"
Maybe the answer is no.
Maybe there is a story we haven't heard.
Maybe there is a pain they haven't shared.
Maybe there is a burden they are carrying silently.
Aur ho sakta hai ki jis behavior ko hum ego samajh rahe hain, woh actually kisi struggle ka result ho.
Life has taught me one thing—
People don't always need advice.
People don't always need opinions.
Sometimes, all they need is someone who is willing to understand without judging.
Because the moment we choose understanding over assumptions, relationships become softer, conversations become deeper, and people feel seen. So the next time someone doesn't meet your expectations, don't be too quick to label them.
Take a moment.
Look beyond the behavior. Try to understand the situation. Because every person you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. And sometimes, a little understanding can do what a thousand judgments never can.
After all, it's easy to judge people from a distance.
Understanding them takes a heart. :::
